Cancer blog round up: week of October 29

We finish up October and Breast Cancer Awareness month with a final look at some more breast cancer bloggers talking about pink garbage cans, Halloween and the need for more research rather than awareness. If you’d like to be considered for a future round up, please leave your blog link in comments.

Looking ahead, November is awareness month for lung and pancreatic cancer, so we’ll be searching for blogs to feature about those two cancer types. In addition it’s Movember, an awareness and fundraising campaign for prostate cancer that encourages men to grow Mustaches (or Mo’s as their called in Australia, where the campaign started) to show their support. Rumor has it the men folk of Navigating Cancer may be sprouting some new facial styles. Stay tuned…

Have a great weekend and Happy Halloween!

The absurdity of pink garbage cans to promote breast cancer awareness has triggered a humorous chord on Katie’s post  “Can’t Let October Get Away

Katie also lends her voice with a more serious tone to -Think Before You Pink- sharing her story and the need for research progress in “Awareness to Awareness”

Rather than just words, Beth puts a face on the need for breast cancer research in her post “I Think I’m Well Aware Already”

As a finalist for the Bright Starts Pink Power Mom, Tami describes the inspiration she experienced in her “Powerful Weekend” post

Identifying herself now as a breast cancer Survivor, Barbara shares her new mindset with visions of hiking though a haunted house wearing pink spike heeled boots in her post “Live Free or Die Trying”
