This year’s Cancer Center Business Summit was held over two days and was aimed at sharing “initiatives to re-imagine, re-design and re-build our system of cancer care delivery into the ‘value-based’ system of the future – focused on delivering care more efficiently, in a more patient centered way, and improving patient outcomes and survival rates.”
Those goals were evident in the sessions – at times filled to standing room only – on topics including Health Reform, MACRA, Technology Innovations, Genomics, Patient-centered Care and Engagement, the Oncology Care Model and more.
It was inspiring to hear from so many leaders in oncology care who are working to develop strategies and solutions for today’s most important healthcare challenges. It is clear that technology must play an important role as the shift to value-based care continues.
One such leader, the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders was this year’s recipient of the Cancer Center Innovator Award – certainly well deserved! The presenter of the award noted, “They not only lead by example, but also encourage other cancer care providers to explore similar high-quality care initiatives by sharing their learnings from the numerous pilot programs in which they have participated.” We couldn’t agree more and are fortunate to call CCBD a valued customer and a key clinical partner. Congrats!
