What do you do at Navigating Cancer?
I work as a Senior Software Engineer at Navigating Cancer. My job involves designing and building data pipelines, working extensively on ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes, and managing various data models for analytical reports.
What’s the best thing about your job?
The best thing is knowing that the work I do can make a real difference in the lives of cancer patients. My father spent years navigating his cancer, so I’ve seen firsthand how much this kind of work matters. It’s not just about writing code or building pipelines—it’s about building something meaningful.
How have you grown professionally while on our team?
I began by reverse engineering past data flows, which was both challenging and rewarding. Initially, my focus was on data modeling, but now I’m expanding into other new technical areas and gaining more experience with Electronic Medical Record integration. It’s been a great learning experience.
What’s the best thing about working for Navigating Cancer?
Everyone here is really passionate about what they do, and they’re talented and approachable. For any problem, we’re encouraged to bring our own ideas and solutions, which I love. The work-life balance is great too, which is especially important for me as a mom of two.
What can you be found doing outside of work?
When I’m not working, my daughter and I love doing crafts together—it’s our special time! We moved into a new house last year, and I’ve taken up gardening and started learning some new DIY projects. It’s been a fun way to unwind and be creative.
